Post 2-way Lamp Module (LM14A)
I'm thinking of changing some of my lamp modules to two way modules. Are the Powerhouse LM14A good ones to use? Do they work well with Indigo? Are there light switches that are two way?

Yes, the LM14A does work well with Indigo. It supports extended dim commands which are much more accurate for setting brightness levels compared to the generic 1-way lamp modules. Most of Smarthome's LampLincs have more features and cost a bit less.

There are also 2-way light switches made by Smarthome, PCS, and Leviton. Not all of these are 2-way, but there are quite a few that are.

Regards,
Matt

Matt,

(reviving an old thread)

When I enable Extended, the server reports back

Code: Select all
Apr 24, 2012 11:17:39 PM
Error                           x10 extended dim commands are not currently compatible with this interface
Sent (offline)                  "Bedroom Lamp" extended dim to 53

Can you please advise? The only way I can get it working is with "Normal"

Indigo 5.1.0 w/PowerLinc (USB, i think that's 2413?)
Mac OS X 10.7.3

The device is a X10 LM14A

Unfortunately, the newer PowerLincs do not support sending X10 extended dim/brighten commands.

Thanks. We'll just get another insteon device then, eventually. Found this X10 one in a workroom drawer from the previous homeowner and figured we'd put it to use.
