This will allow you to more easily build different pages to fit the different widths of devices. I've already built: Home-iPhone and Home-iPad. One feature we'd really like to do is to somehow enable showing pages for a specific device somehow. We'll see where that falls into the 2.0 feature set (when we get back to it later this year).

Seems like you could use Media Queries based on width with CSS3.

First, let me say thanks for all your hard work. We'd have a hard time getting along without Indigo in our home after using it for several years.

However, this feature significantly lowers the Wife Approval Factor for my system. My Control Pages are four screens wide, and its very easy to scroll horizontally to find the controls you need. They are totally unusable when zoomed out.

Having to double tap every time you change control pages or wake the iPod destroys the elegance and simplicity of the system, especially since accidentally double tapping on a button (on my 1st Gen iPod Touch) always activates that button twice rather than zooming. That means any function can get activated without my knowing it.

Is there any chance of adding a switch to the Settings page to turn off this function?

In the meantime, I need to revert to the previous version. I think if I delete the new version from iTunes and sync another iPod that has the old version, I can recover it. Does that sound right?

Does anyone else use wide pages with scrolling?

Control pages aren't rendered using HTML in Indigo Touch.

@Otis: we knew there would be a few people who would have to rethink their control page design with this change, and we're sorry for it. But, when thinking about a balance between having a page that looks acceptable at various screen resolutions and yet giving people the ability to use the full screen size of any device, this seemed like the most reasonable solution.

Thought: what if you used vertical scrolling rather than horizontal?

We'll consider other alternatives for future releases, but I'd highly suggest that you not go back - Indigo Touch 1.5 crashes on iOS 4 at launch so you'd not only have to not update Indigo Touch but also not update the OS as well. I'm not sure your revert strategy will work (I think it'll delete Touch from your iPod when you sync) but you could give it a try.

I downloaded the iPad app -- yippee, it works GREAT!

Is it possible to make the app work from outside my LAN using the Prism system?

Here are a couple of idea (which people may have already had, but anyway, I'm new to this app...):

(1) Can you put the on/off button or slider right on the devices screen, so that I can directly change the device status without having to bring up the little box first?

(2) Can you show two columns of devices when the iPad is in landscape orientation? There's plenty of room.

To build on other feature requests:

Would be nice to actually load in a different control page based on the orientation of the device, as well as detecting the type of device. Because of the different aspect ratio, the design of the control page should change to make best use of the real estate.

My old iPod touch now rotates the control page depending on the orientation of the device (didn't do it with Indigo Touch 1.5).

Being able to turn off a change of orientation would also be nice (from within the app). Not sure my old iPod touch will run iOS4 to take advantage of that feature.

Thanks for all the hard work.

Yes, it does just like on the iPhone. You have to have your reflector setup and configured first, but then after you connect via LAN Indigo Touch will save off all of the reflector information and that will be used when the LAN connection doesn't work.

Yeah, we have lots of ideas on improvements such as those. We just wanted to get an iPad release out ASAP to support Control Pages at the full screen resolution. We are concentrating on Indigo 5.0 now (still months out), but after that ships our plan is to work on a major release of Indigo Touch.

Yep, definitely on our ToDo list. :-)

Correct, we added landscape/portrait rotations for all devices. Can you describe the usage scenario / setup where you do not want the rotation?

It's just a personal preference. The current control page was designed for portrait mode and has the right layout for that size and format. We are quite content with it this way. Now it's a bit of a pain to have it rotating every time we put it down. And it kind of looks dumb in landscape mode.

Seems like a valid option to not need a landscape version of every control page.
