I have been using the DS18B20 temperature sensors on
the EZIO8SA and the EZIO8T.

I poll the status on both to update the temperature on my control page
every 15 min.

For some reason they stop working every night between 3 and 5 AM and give readings of 0 and 491.

The only way, so far, to get them back is to unplug & re sync them.

Interesting. I'm having a similar problem with my EZSnsRF. It works fine for a while and then just stops responding to devices. When I unplug/replug, it starts working fine again.

It was actually only working for 3 or 4 triggers, but I sent it into SimpleHomeNet who upgraded the firmware, resulting in the current behavior.

I wonder is there is some common problem in the firmware for these devices causing this. I've taken to cycling its power through an Icon switch every so often, but that is obviously a hack.

it's only with the temp sensor on the 8 SA & T models
My SnsRF has not locked up
I am testing to see if its a polling issue

I'm a little confused on how the EZIOxx devices work with one wire. If I hook up a temp or humidity sensor, can I just stick those values in a variable?

What about devices other than the DS18B20? Can i connect multiple 1-wire devices and Indigo will recognize all of them?

I believe the EZIOxxx currently only support a single DS18B20 sensor.

This is definitely odd. I wonder why it happens during that time window.

Do you have to re-sync to get it working, or just unplug the EZIO and plug it back in?

Would be interesting to not poll during that time period to see if it still locks up. If it does, then don't poll at all for a day and see if it still locks up.

I have to do both unplug and re sync
then I re- select 1 wire sensor
It generally takes 2 status updates
before I receive the correct temp data

Do you get any errors in the Event Log when it isn't working, or does it just return the wrong temp values?

Have you posted about this on the SimpleHomeNet forum (or emailed them)? It sounds like it is getting confused, but I don't know why/how.

Would any of the people who have gotten their EZSnsRF devices to work be willing to share even more detail and/or tips about how they did that?
(Beyond the brief information shared in this thread already...)
