Can you dynamically re-caption a button with a variable? Maybe with applescript?


And is there a way to modify a variable via a control page? I have an up/down button working but rather be able to type in a new value directly.

To answer your first question, yes, it's possible to re-caption a button. though you probably need to assemble it from a couple of elements:

1) Place a Static Image with the background of your button
2) On top of that, place a control for "Variable Value," and choose the "As Text" option. Leave your caption blank -- that displays only a static item on the page, i.e., to label the variable.
