Not really a feature request, but have you ever considered an event (even virtual) where we might be able to log into a Zoom call to meet and see each others' faces? Maybe have a few scheduled things like:
- keynotes
- roadmap items
- plugin developers breakout rooms
- Q&A Panel
- Tour of our Parents' basement ?

Possibilities seems endless to grow the community.

Thanks for all you do.

Honestly, we've never discussed this beyond a discussion years ago about a "user group". That takes a level of preparation, coordination and time that's non-trivial. Not sure that's a good use of our meager time...

I don’t have a basement but you can have a tour of my garage… although it does look like there was an explosion at an apple factory during the Spindler years…

I would drop everything for a live stream on the YouTube or the Twitch to do a Q&A session, or to let people join into a zoom. You guys have that personal touch and user base that apparently is one of the things that's making Rust so popular.

Edit: i'm still working on your 18–44 demographic... best home automation switch ever: https://youtube.com/shorts/_wG-C7lFoPQ? ... lN0m7oVSHI

Looks Great…

Although I’m not completely sure it does anything …… yet??

Check out:

Forum somewhere here:
viewtopic.php?f=397&t=27504&p=220903&hilit=esphome#p220903

Enables esp32 devices to get straight into indigo and push update via ESPHome API. Thought of you as I have been working with a growing number of these $5 devices … in fact had 5 arrive today from China can’t remember ordering…. (just as well $5 each!)

Plugin - Supports switches, all sensors (temp. wif etc.) and binary sensors…..
Can support more types as requested/ needed…. (although not super keen on supporting all…)

Running on production - happy pretty robust, connects, disconnects, rediscovers devices without issue ….

Are you planning to reanimate a monster made from multiple body parts and then automate it using indigo? If so.. cool!

Lol- I wanted a bat signal to summon neighborhood dads to my shop/bar. I quickly realized an actual bat signal look at me in trouble with the feds, so I made eight miniature bat signals that check an indigo variable to see whether there is a party in my shop! I'm curious how many indigo related questions I'll get from the youngins once the full video is out...
