Maybe a bug, but sometimes I come across with variables that don't show dependencies, see attached picture as an example.

Yeah, unfortunately dependencies aren't shown when a plugin is using a built-in object (and that particular action is implemented in a special hidden plugin). It's on our list to look at in a future version.
