Having a simple news reader added to Indigo gets my vote.
Years ago I used a PC app called HAL that could read a number
of things like selected stocks, sports scores etc. Nice to have
without all the programming.

Not sure if it's what you're looking for, but you can have any Mac OS X 10.5 system or later (maybe even earlier versions) read any selected text to you (regardless of whether Indigo is installed). Simply highlight the text you want read (the same way you highlight any text, by clicking and dragging), then right-click (or Control-click, if you have an old mouse) the highlighted text. One of the menu options should be "Speech" which will have a sub-menu. Select "Start Speaking" from that sub-menu and the Mac will begin reading whatever text you have selected (using the voice selected in the Speech control pane in System Preferences).

Thanks Nathan, but I was thinking more along the lines of a plugin, or whatever,
that you cold just enter favorite stocks, sports scores, local news etc. and setup triggers
to have them read.

Ahhh, gotcha. So, like maybe enter an RSS feed URL and have it read the feed back to you?

That would be a great addition. Probably not such a hard thing to implement for those
in the know.
