Post 5.1 Insteon scenes off
>Added ability to create INSTEON scenes that control relay modules to OFF (versus ON) during execution.

How does one do that? I still only see generic on/off controls in the manage insteon powerlinc links that don't allow saying a particular device should be on or off.

Thanks,

-Chris

The popup shown below is what does it. If to OFF is selected then the module will go to OFF regardless of the scene commands sent (OFF or ON). If to ON is selected then the module will go OFF when the OFF scene is sent and it will go ON when the ON scene is sent.

Is this what I think it is?

Can I finally define a 'SCENE' for my media room as "Step lights ON; Overhead lights OFF", etc... and have it fire as an Insteon scene (with the associated speed enhancements that an action group doesn't have?

Yes, what used to take 2 scenes you can sometimes get away with just a single scene now.

I thought the Insteon protocol didn't specify for 'off' settings. Is that changed? Or are you guys just using a trick to get around it? (Not that I really care HOW. If it works, it works).

For older (I think really old) firmware it didn't work, but for most of the more recent firmware relay modules that I tried it does appear to work.
