 EasyDAQ problem
I have recently noticed that the activity light on my ethernet switch was constantly active for my Indigo Mac. A little investigation showed a steady IP packet receipt rate around 45 in and 55 out on an otherwise quiet machine. =Stopping the Indigo server dropped the rate to the usual 10 or so in and out. I then tried stopping my plugins one by one and traced the issue to the EasyDAQ plugin. I tried resetting the EasyDAQ but that did not resolve the issue. I suspect the EasyDAQ is the cause of the problem, not the plugin. I have had issues with this board before. In fact, I had purchased a Phidgets SBC3 to replace the EasyDAQ and just hadn't gotten around to it.
So, as of now, the EasyDAQ NET16PRMx is on the bench, the SBC is installed and everything is working fine again.
YMMV

 Re: EasyDAQ problem
Was the EasyDAQ not working when you noticed the IP traffic? The protocol for the EasyDAQ requires constant polling to check the states of the inputs (no push mechanism), so it wouldn't surprise me to see constant IP traffic while using it.
Although it would be frequent packets (several a second), the packet sizes would be tiny so I wouldn't expect any real IP traffic problems or congestion.

 Re: EasyDAQ problem
The EasyDAQ was working, and, you are probably right, the traffic was relatively low. But, this is an older Mac Mini and for whatever reason, the traffic seemed to slow things down. One big reason I switched to the Phidgets SBC is it sends events and does not require polling.
In any case, I have not been particularly happy with the EasyDAQ. Support (on a scale from zero to 10 [Indigo]) it was a 2, maybe lower. Also, the Lantronix web interface never worked, I had to do all configuration via telnet to the board.
So, all-in-all, I am happy to see it go. I may see if someone else wants to buy it and invest in some Z-Wave for this location.
