Mac mini M1 with OSX Ventura "sleep" interactions?

My understanding is that the entire idea of "sleep" is somewhat different with apple silicon and Ventura in the sense that network and compute stay alive somewhat. After my M1 Mac mini "sleeps" and then wakes, I see this in the log:

Jun 2, 2023 at 15:53:05
Received awake notification from system
MyQ Garage Door Opener: Starting myqOpener Device 641812572
Camect Camect Cameras: Starting Device
NOAA Weather 'KPAO Weather' changed at 2023-06-02 14:47:00'.
Relay Board Plugin "Fireplace" turned on manually?

So it seems not everything is being kept alive. Note that the last line above is a custom plugin of. mine that is running a low pass filter once every 20 sec and that log item indicates to me that it has not been triggered to run at all while asleep.

Question: Should I be doing something to keep this machine from sleeping at all? (the prevent sleep setting is gone in Ventura ;)

You can prevent sleeping in Ventura using the setting shown below:

Note that for Indigo to function correctly, the Mac needs to be running 24/7 and not sleeping at any point. :)

ok, there it is, thanks! I can't find anything in the new settings UI in Ventura ;) Have to use pmset to schedule reboots now!

Maybe I should have been clearer?

Go to Settings > Displays > Advanced... (at the bottom) to get that panel displayed. :)

I am having a related problem with the sleep functionality in my new Mac mini M2 Pro running Ventura 13.3.1.

I have the Mac connected to a CyperPower UPS and whenever power is interrupted, the Mac goes to sleep shortly thereafter (even though the UPS has plenty of runtime left).

Of course this defeats the whole purpose of having the UPS.

I have all of the UPS Shutdown functions turned OFF.

Has anyone seen this happening or have a suggestion how to prevent it?

Thanks!
Michael

Is the Mac connected to the UPS by USB (or serial)? If so, disconnect it.

It's connected via USB so I can monitor the runtime remaining, etc. using the UPS and Battery Monitor Plugin.

Also, I have triggers setup to run when the power goes out/comes back on.

This worked just fine with my older Mac.

I DID just discover one additional setting that was NOT set to NEVER.... maybe that was the culprit!
