Motion Sensor Gone Wild [+ Access Points]
Yesterday I added a third Access Point [v2.6]. The original two AP's are [v 1.6]. Smarthome states the two versions are compatible, and that the LED is the only difference.
#1- The way I understand it is that the first two must go through the phase discovery set-up, and then any additional units can just be plugged in anywhere without doing anything else.
#2- Smarthome's Wiki states:
Installing the First Access Point...
Installing the Second Access Point...
Installing Additional Access Points
You can add additional Access Points to your INSTEON network to extend its coverage and maximize performance. Simply choose the Access Point that you previously installed as the first Access Point and follow the steps in Installing the Second Access Point to confirm that new Access Points are communicating with your existing Access Points. After the two opposite power line phases in your home are coupled with at least two Access Points, it does not matter which power line phase you plug additional Access Points into.
This seems to read that you should go back to the first AP and perform a discovery with the [new] third.
The old AP's have a bright white LED that flashes during network activity, but the new AP's have a very dim green LED so it's almost impossible to see if it's working. Since I couldn't verify what I would consider a "flash", I tried method #1 and #2.
As soon as I added the third AP [method #2], a motion sensor started firing OFF/ON commands every ±30 seconds.
- attempted to redefine device = FAIL
- resync = FAIL
- factory reset = recognized, but the problem was still there
- deleted the device from Indigo and resync'd = log still showed activity! Does Indigo log communication from a device that is NOT defined?
- added the device back into Indigo = OFF/ON every minute
- Code: Select all

Smarthome swears that there is NO linking or permanent recognition during "discovery mode", yet with all the buttons that where being pushed during step #2, the motion sensor in question was in the SAME ROOM and there WAS motion so an RF signal WAS being sent during the process.
As I am sitting here watching my log I get an OFF/ON exactly every minute.
Any of this sound familiar to anyone? Solution?
