 Control of Pool Heater
I would like to add control of my pool heater to my Indigo system. I have a Hayward H-250 with electronic ignition. Hayward has the connections available for a three-wire remote to set it to the hi-temp setting or the low-temp setting.
What is the set up I need - do I need two I/O devices, one for the hi-temp, one for the low? Or is there a three-wire device that allows either A or B?
Thanks for the help. Rob

 Re: Control of Pool Heater
rob, did you ever make any progress on this? i have the same setup. saw the three wire solution in the manual but haven't done any more thinking on it.
i'd also like to get the water temp value from the heater. don't know if that's possible.
all the pool automation setups i can find are much more involved than i need. i already have timers and thermostats and chlorinators etc. don't need to replace any of that for automation, i just want to turn the heater on and off and see the current temp.
has anyone looked any further into this?
tia.

 Re: Control of Pool Heater
Actually, I did. I used two I/O Lincs one for high and one for low, running off the terminal block in the heater. I track a status variable and set it for High, Low, Standby and System Off. It worked great and gave me the ability to run the heater much more in sync with when the pool was used.
