[MODERATOR NOTE]: moved to the Insteon forum since it's specifically an Insteon issue.

I'm not sure if this has happened to anyone else, but I'm getting random "on" and "off" commands, typically following a motion sensor "on" for one of my lights from a device that's not anywhere on the device list. It gives me the address, but how do I find out what it is and where?

Any help much appreciated..36.9F.0E is not on my device list...

Usually when you see that it means one of a couple of things:

1) You have an Insteon device that's failing and is randomly spewing garbage on the power line that just happens to look like a valid Insteon broadcast.
2) You have an Insteon collision (multiple devices that are trying to talk at the same time).
3) You have a bad link in some device.

If it seems to be mostly when the "1F motion detected" trigger fires, then it may be #2 above. Try adding a one second delay to the action that turns on the "Hallway 1F" device.

Thanks for the suggestions Jay. I did put in a delay, still waiting to see if it did anything.

Following up on your point 1, if there is a device failing spewing random stuff with the exact same address every time, how can I find it? I have over 70 active devices..

It is common for a failing device which is spewing noise to look like a single device from an Insteon protocol standpoint.

To identify a misbehaving device, you'll want to disable each circuit in your house, one at a time, until the error stops. Once you know which circuit it is on, then you'll want to unplug and/or air-gap each device until you find the one that's having issues. Note, it's also possible that some non-Insteon device is causing this, like a failing power strip or something new plugged in, though it's slightly less likely that it's noise will be interpreted as Insteon messages. Check the signal troubleshooting guide for tips on dealing with noise (which is, unfortunately, very common with Insteon/X10).

If you don't find any, then it may be a battery-powered device that's doing it. You'd then want to remove batteries from each in turn to see if you can find out which one it is.
