Working with Insteon Links/Unexpected result

Ok, I finally have gotten most of my home re-fitted with smart switches , dimmers and the like.
My puzzlement at the moment is with a trifecta of lights I am trying to control via a daily schedule.

2 Insteon ON/OFF switches are involved (Model 2477S) and one Aeon Labs plug in dimmer (ZW099 ).

Insteon switch #01 directly controls the patio light.
Insteon switch #02 directly controls the backyard floods.
The Aeon plug in dimmer controls the string lights over the patio.

I have the 2 insteon switches linked to each other such that when switch #01 is pressed it turns on the patio light AND switch #02 responds by turning on the back yard floods.
A trigger is set up so that when switch #01 is pressed it triggers the Aeon dimmer to turn on the string lights.
SO....Insteon switch #01, when physically pressed, turns on switch #02 AND the Aeon dimmer is triggered on so all lights come on.

BUT, here is the puzzlement....
When my daily schedule turns on Insteon #01, ONLY the patio light come on.
If I physically press the switch, all the lights come on.

Is this normal behavior, or am I missing something.

I have another link that requires a manual press to activate the link as well.
I also get no linked activity when switching from my iPhone.

It's like the links only work with physical presses, but do not work from within the software environment.

Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

This is normal. When you press the physical button it sends out a command, when you send a command to it, it accepts it and doesn't send out its own. I guess, the designers thought that if you want to control both, you will send a message to both. Personally, I would have preferred that if the devices are linked it means linked, but... I'm switching to z-wave anyway as I had way to many issues with insteon.

This wiki article probably explains what you're seeing.
