Zooz ZEN25 error

The ZEN25 is always listed as a "failed" device. When synching, getting:

Z-Wave Error device "multiPlug (USB Sensor)" does not support status request command

Any way to address this error to stop the device from being listed as "failed"

Thank you!

JP

Re: Zooz ZEN25 error

Re-sync it again and copy/paste the Event Log results showing the entire sync.

Re: Zooz ZEN25 error

Does selecting your Master-multiPlug Behind Dresser (USB Sensor) device and pressing the Turn On or Turn Off button (just to reset the state UI) change the error state?

What about plugging something drawing current from the USB port in for a few seconds and then removing it? Normally the error state will get reset whenever Indigo receives a valid command from the device for that endpoint, so that might get it out of the error state.

I'll look at modifying the definition so Indigo doesn't try to send it a status request to avoid the problem altogether.

Re: Zooz ZEN25 error

Thanks Matt. All my ZEN25 double plug-ins throw the error for the USB port saying that the USB Port device “does not support status request command.” I just ignore the errors in the log.

Re: Zooz ZEN25 error

I'm tweaking the device definition for the next release which will hopefully fix the problem (after a re-sync).

Re: Zooz ZEN25 error

This should now be fixed in Indigo 2022.2.0 which is now available.

Re: Zooz ZEN25 error

i purchased three ZEN25's a year or two ago.

one become unresponsive and started emitting a an audible clicking sound approximately once per second when plugged in, but was otherwise dead. i could not seem to reset the switch or get it to recognize any input, so i had to toss it.

a second one became flaky and could be turned on, but then it would turn itself off after a short time (a few seconds), then become completely unresponsive until the switch was unplugged and replugged. it appears that some kind of over-current condition was being detected, however i had only a very light load attached to the switch and i later confirmed that i got the same behavior even with no load attached at all. so i chalked this up to another hardware failure.

the third one is still mostly working, however a few times i observed that a basic "define and sync" operation from indigo will time-out for it, so my confidence in it is pretty low.

i'm just sharing my experience. ymmv.

i like zooz in that they seem to be one of very few "fast-movers" in the z-wave market in terms of keeping up with latest chipsets and such. i hope my experience is an outlier in terms of quality/reliability of their stuff. i noticed the company doesn't seem to sell ZEN25 any longer. perhaps it is connected to design/parts problems... they don't seem to have any equivalent replacement product in their lineup, either.

Re: Zooz ZEN25 error

Thanks for posting your experience. I have a few of these devices in my house as well. My experience with them overall is good. I did have one that seemed to become unresponsive. Did a complete factory re-set on it and it worked for a while (months) but ultimately failed again. Tossed that one. The others are still going strong.

Re: Zooz ZEN25 error

I had their double plug fail and wreck both the modem and router attached to it. Expensive failure. Other products of theirs have been fine for me.
