Re: Dim light on 1132CU means what?
The dim led means nothing.
When it comes to the x10 signal,...
The above items are no nos.
on our site http://x10parts.com/solve%20x10%20problems.html
we have a pretty good explanation of things to worry about or need to filter.
Plug strips should be given away they kill signal
UPS back up power kills signal
A good way to test it is to remove it and test.
FILTERS do not filter everything and thinking they do is a huge problem.
Plug in filters work for most items but not the back up power on most.
Then Be very careful of the wattage on filters
if you use a 500 watt filter on a 500 watt or higher item you run the risk of fire.
Some call it melt down, it can be dangerous.
Unplug the 1132cu for 5 minutes while you get rid of the signal distorting stuff.
then plug it back in.
The closer you put the 1132cu to the Main electrical panel
along with XPCR panel amps at each panel on the property insure a good signal for what you need as long as you
Don't have signal distort items such as back up power or Solar or a neighbor with solar, and the list we have on our website.
Dead led means signal stuck or dead unit unplug for 15 minutes and plug back in.
If that doesnt work unplug hold reset button in for 30 seconds while plugging it back in hold it for another 5 seconds.
then reprogram from your computer. If that doesn't work it is dead.
Average life span of an 1132cu is around 5 years. One storm or surge can kill it.
then plug unit in near MAIN electrical panel on property.
The Best surge protection that works with X10 is whole house surge protection.
Wiremold makes a good one. Intermatic panel surge protector as well.
One of these whole house surge protectors should be at each electrical panel on the property as well.
My Experience is specializing in x10 in southern California for over 15 years
in well over 1000 homes,
You are lucky to have the 1132cu
There are very few left out there. I know we only have like 5 or 6 or 7 left in stock.
I have used the 1132cu for over ten years now.
I have tried to find a replacement, there just isnt one.
