Getting started with Indigo. Insteon working, X10 not
I'm just getting started with Indigo. My few Insteon switches appear to be getting signals and functioning from a 2413U. One older X10 SwitchLinc 2-way seems to be getting the signal. But none of my X10 lamp modules appear to be working. No error messages in the logs. As a beginner to Indigo, I'm not sure where to start troubleshooting. Can someone help? Thank you!

Try plugging the X10 lamp module into the exact same outlet/circuit as the 2413U. If that doesn't work, then I think you have a marginal 2413U and should get it replaced.

Re: Getting started with Indigo. Insteon working, X10 not
I plugged in an X10 module near the 2413 and it worked perfectly. Not sure where to go from here. Am I looking at a bridging issue or a noise issue? My system has a Leviton HCA02 amplifier/repeater hooked up which fixed my X10 problems I was having years ago. If it's a bridging problem then that device should still be bridging X10 signals. Everything around the 2413 is filtered using the old X10 brown filters I've had for years. Perhaps those don't filter correctly when using the 2413? I'm lost as to what to check next. But it sounds like my 2413 is fine. Smarthome mentioned that the 2413 doesn't put out nearly as strong X10 signal as X10 interfaces do.
Thoughts anyone? And thank you tons!!!

Re: Getting started with Indigo. Insteon working, X10 not
The X10 filters will indeed help with INSTEON as well.
I talked to Norm at MacHomeStore.com and he said the marginal 2413Us he has seen still output some X10 signal, but it is very weak (he measured with a signal strength tester). The ones that he has that work send a nice strong signal. So a replacement 2413U might very well help...

Re: Getting started with Indigo. Insteon working, X10 not
I have sent for a replacement 2413U with Amazon.com. Does Norm think that the marginal ones are all from one batch or is it intermittent? I'm just worried that my replacement from Amazon might experience the same thing if they are all from the same batch.
After I pulled out my 2413U I put in my CM11 and things are working fantastic again. I hope I can get the same result with a better 2413U. Thanks for your help.

Hard to tell... I think the percentage he has gotten recently has had a fairly high X10 failure rate, but I believe Smarthome might be now doing some additional QA for it. But I'm not sure what the Amazon stock will be like.
