A/V Receiver Advice

Hello everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my home av receiver and figure what better place to ask for advice than on a Mac based home automation forum. I'd like to get a receiver that will play well with my MacBook pro, Mac pro, iPad and iPhones as well as be able to control remotely through an iPad app or through indigo. Any suggestions? I saw a few pioneer models that were air play compatible as well as some onkyo and Harmon kardon models that were network controlled. Any and all advice appreciated and I'd like to keep it under $1,000 if possible.
