Re: How to: 50amp hot tub

I've tried a bunch of different things to improve the wireless connection (new batteries, pull all batteries, do resets on all devices, move base unit) and nothing has worked for long. Am very close to sending it back (Oregon Scientific said the unit may need to be replaced).

I finally tried changing the channel on the spa thermometer from 3 to 2 and for some reason the temp has been updating properly for 6 hours now.

Voodoo.

Or, RF interference? Maybe the spa pump motor.

Don't think it's the motor as the drops happen more infrequently than it runs. It's also farther away from both the base and sensor than the base and sensor from each other.

The good news is that the tub temp has now been reading for about 19 hours.

The last set of changes:

1. Swapped sensor batteries for two new ones from the same package that were in there.
2. Used an eraser to clean the internal sensor contacts between bottom and top.
3. Moved the weather station base unit about two feet to the left on window sill (now 6 feet away from airport extreme)

None of these give me confidence that I know the real "fix" should the signal drop again.
