Z-wave garage door button

Does anyone know of Z-wave has a dry contact device for activating a garage door?

I had another thread posted about my I/0 garage door status kit. I went round and round with smart home. Bottom line, my new Sears garage door opened with battery back up is not a dry contact opener, and my door status kit won't work with an open that has assured link.

Unless there is a kit that converts my assured link to a dry contact opener...

So I'm wondering if there is a z-wave option.

I can't help, but I think your first sentence may be incorrect. If your garage door opener doesn't work with a try contact controller, then why would you want a dry contact Z-Wave device?

Yea I didn't get that very clear. The older doors use a dry contact method. The newer ones doesn't place nice with insteon.

So I need something that this I/o will convert the dry contact to a signal that will the new opener will understand.

There might be an accessory available for your opener that allows remote control via WiFi. But it won't be a Z-wave device.

Re: Z-wave garage door button

This really is a pain.

So the sears garage door I have, with the battery back up , is made by Chamberlain. Just spoke with them and the tech knew exactly what I was talking about, but said no, none of the new openers use dry contact anymore, its an encrypted code. He also said he has heard of a "Dry Contact to Code Converter" but doesn't know anything about it.

I have a seen few posts about this, I'm hoping smart home is addressing this, but what a pain.
