Do I need to "Manage Alexa Device Publications..." for all devices in an Action Group (i.e Kitchen lights) to be able to say "Alexa, tell Indigo to execute turn on kitchen lights"

I love dumb questions. I'm going to say (without testing this) that no you don't . The Action Group command is issued to the Indigo Server from Alexa. At that point the Indigo Server has full control over all devices.

OK, so is the only point of "Manage Alexa Device Publications" is to control individual devices?

And to get their status. That's my understanding. To include virtual devices
