Please send me a screen shot of what your showing on the web page... (send it to benjamin AT schollnick dot net)

I'm having a problem figuring out what is happening on your web page display...

Now, what do you have set for your Find Your iDevice configuration page? Specifically the Home Latitude & Home Longitude? And Create Location WebPage...

Doh! I suspect the answer has been right in front of me, for a while, and I went and redesigned a chunk of the app to try to ensure it wasn't the application....

Find my iDevices relies on Javascript... By any chance do you have a Javascript or Ad Blocker package running, or have Javascript disabled in your browser?

What happens if you go to http://maps.google.com and do a search on a address there?

Re: Find my iDevices!

No ad blockers and javascript is on. I'm using Safari and Google Maps works well. If nobody else is having this issue, then don't waste another second on it. The functionality is beyond useful. Appreciate all the effort on this plugin.

Re: Find my iDevices!

I have the same problem. It started with the 1.011 update. The iDevice page shows up but there is no map on the page.

Chris

update: After running through different scenarios, the problem ended up being that the fence names cannot contain special characters (i.e - or ' ). With special characters in the fence name, the map does not load. I also tried special characters in the iPhone name (i.e. iDevices - Chris's iPhone) and it works fine.

After you change the fence name, make sure you:

1) Edit the fence device and then click on Edit Device Settings, Save and OK. For some reason it will not take the name change unless you do that.

2) Reload the plugin.

Hope that solves your problem,

Chris

Re: Find my iDevices!

And it was as simple as that. Of course I had a '-' in the device name. I took it out and the map renders perfectly with the fence. It is so cool. I would have never thought that could be the issue. Thanks so much.

Re: Find my iDevices!

Perhaps it's already discussed in this thread and I missed it. Is there a way to manually trigger the check with mobile me (in the context of having indigo do it) instead of using the timer?

The easiest way is to Create a Trigger Action with the settings of:

Type: Plugin
Plugin: Find My iDevices
Action: Update iDevice Status

But that action will need to be triggered from somewhere (e.g. a Control page, or another device triggering, etc).

Or, if you have a Indigo client, you can choose from the Plugin Menu, Find My iDevices, Force Update Status....

Re: Find my iDevices!

I'm using version 1.2 and after configuring the plugin I'm able to add a device and point it to my iPhone registered in iCloud. However, once I save and close the device immediately loses my registered iPhone. At that point the dropdown for "Choose an MobileMe iDevice" is empty.

Is there possibly an issue that there's an apostrophy in my iPhone's registered name? (Ryan.Buckner's iPhone)

Re: Find my iDevices!

I finally got this working, thank you !!

Is there any documentation on how to access the information for a given device using AppleScript? For instance, how would I find out the value of the Distance from home for my device called "iPhone" ?

Depending on MobileMe / iCloud, it make take a second or two to load the information from MobileMe / iCloud... So it's possible that you may have to wait 5-10 seconds, for the registration information to be loaded...

I just want to clarify, there are two things that are affecting Find My iDevices right now.

* Between v1.10 & v1.20 there were a few users that were having issues with devices not being found, so I ended up rewriting the code heavily in a effort to resolve these issues. Sadly, after I rewrote the code many of these issues were found to be login issues, or other non-FMID related problems...

* FMIDs is being updated with iCloud functionality... v1.20 is working, but some reports of issues with alternative logins have started to show up... I am currently investigating this right now...

Re: Find my iDevices!

Yesterday I was having an issue adding another device to FMiD using the alternate login. Today the device showed attributes in Indigo (Long, Lat, Distance, etc...). When I investigated further I could tell that it was duplicating an already listed device by using my primary login and password, ignoring the alternate login. I hope this helps.

Contact me directly. I have a beta that should resolve the issue.
