Have trouble with 1132CU

I am using my laptop with snow leopard on it to interface with the 1132CU.
I am change all the X10 unit to Insteon unit.
Every time I try to set one up using the Define and Sync function I get this message INSTEON interface (PowerLinc 2414U/2412U/2412S/2413U/2413S) is not connected or online.
I know the USB cable is working to the 1132CU since I can turn things off and on thru it.
I thought that Insteon work with 1132CU units since it seens to be define in the setup.
