 CM12U Problems
Hi,
I've just got a CM12U, and a USB-Serial adaptor, from eBay, but it's not being recognised by Indigo. I'm on Mac OS 10.6.6.
Could someone please tell me how to get this working?

 Re: CM12U Problems
Try installing this open source USB/serial driver and restart your Mac. It should add a new Serial Port menu item to the list inside Indigo's preferences dialog that you can select.

Thanks for the reply. I've installed the driver and restarted my Mac, and selected CM11/CM12 in Indigo, but the only option for the serial port is Bluetooth-PDA-Sync, which won't connect and returns an error (Failed to establish connection or open serial port to main interface). Hope you can help...

 Re: CM12U Problems
Did you perhaps install another driver before the open source one (like the Prolific driver)? If so, it might be conflicting and you'll need to remove the other one and possibly reinstall the open source driver.
I know we have users using the CM12U with Indigo, but I personally don't have one.
Does anyone have any tips or suggestions that has it working?

 Re: CM12U Problems
Yes I think I must have installed the Prolific driver; I've just dragged the ProlificUSBSerial.kext to the trash though (and emptied), and restarted my Mac; then reinstalled the open source driver in your link, but the serial port still doesn't show up.
Been trying loads of things but still no luck; the USB-Serial adaptor I have does definitely appear to be PL-2303 based...

 Re: CM12U Problems
Hmmm... I'm not sure what else to try. We did just have another user with a similar problem on this forum thread. He was able to get it working on a different Mac. Do you have access to another Mac you could try, at least for troubleshooting? Even if you cannot use it as a permanent solution, it will help determine if there is a hardware problem.

 Re: CM12U Problems
Thanks for your help. After spending many hours on this, I've finally discovered that it's my USB-Serial adaptor that's the problem: It's no a Prolific one.
I've found the Windows driver for it that works fine (on a friend's PC), but no Mac driver available. So it looks like I need a new lead that's Prolific.
The lead was a cheap one from eBay, and is marked HL-340, and is CH340-based.
