 flashmode powerline signal
i hope you can help, I purchased a PH508 siren and was looking to have Indigo activate it without having to purchase the home securltity module offerd by X10. Can this be done?
I believe it would have to recreate the "flashmode powerline signal" generated by the security console..
Any ideas would bew a cash saver!

 Re: flashmode powerline signal
I don't have an exact answer, but it sounds like folks have had some luck with it here and here.
Regards,
Matt

 flashmode powerline signal ph508
Thank you Matt, that did the trick!
By the way the PH508 is a large unit, and its not as loud as a regular alarm. i had to purchase four of these units to get the effect i'm looking for.
Two in the garage screwed in to the ceiling outlets (that should give it the wow factor), they are not easily reached and can also be heard from the street.
One in the basement and one in the main living area.
As always thank you!

 ph508
Just wanted to post an update about using the PH508 units as sirens (burglar alarms); my idea was to use multiple units to fill the home with loud noise. Even though the PH508 is fairly loud the sound is almost identical to your smoke alarm so it would be difficult to make a distinction in a panic state..
I recommend using a dedicated power supply and self contained siren for a burglar intrusion system. Indigo can trigger the siren using an X10 programmable relay module and most of all think about this; the PH508 operates by continues on/off commands. All those commands running through your electrical wiring disables any further commands from executing. Which means you can’t shut off the PH508 until it runs through the entire on /off cycle..
My last hurdle is finding an X10 keypad; that can turn on / off the alarm. Any one have any ideas? Currently using The keyfob to enable / disable..

Does anyone have the Ademco 6150RF RF Series LCD Keypad working with indigo.
Can this be used as the alarm keypad to enable or disable action groups?
