Post IndigoServer Errors
The past few days I have been recieving these errors:

2010-01-20 18:34:20 Error failed to save preferences
Error failed to save preferences
Error DoSaveNow() caught exception: FileIOError -- failed to create temp file (err -5000)
Error DoSaveNow() caught exception: FileIOError -- failed to create temp file (err -5000)

2010-01-20 18:35:10 Error ~CMailScanMgr() caught exception: FileIOError -- failed to create temp file (err -5000)
Error ~CMailScanMgr() caught exception: FileIOError -- failed to create temp file (err -5000)

I checked permissions on a few files and folders and nothing seemed wrong. I am currently repairing permissions on the whole hard drive.

Anyone got any other ideas?

Did the repair permissions help?

Copy/paste the following into Terminal, then copy/paste the results to the forum for me:
Code: Select all
cd /Library/Application\ Support/Perceptive\ Automation/Indigo\ 4/Preferences/
ls -al
id

The owner all all the files (and folder) is incorrect. It is set to 502, but you are user 501. You should check the other sibling folders as well; they are probably incorrect too.

I installed Mac OS X 10.6 on this computer and used Migration Assistant on the older computer running in the Dining Room. I am running Indigo on the Admin user account and deleted the old account.

I suppose the quick fix is to backup the Indigo 4 Folder re-install Indigo?

Quick fix is to do this in the Terminal:
Code: Select all
cd /Library/Application\ Support
sudo chown -R 501:501 Perceptive\ Automation

Enter your OS X user account password when prompted.

I really wish Apple would fix that stupid assistant - it almost always screws up some permissions...
