Suddenly getting error message from iMessage Plugin

tHi Glenn suddenly getting an error message after years of no problems with your great plugin.

iMessage Plugin Error An Error occurred sending this message: Error: Not authorized to send Apple events to Messages. (-1743) app='Messages' range=183-185

What might have changed?

I'm on Sonoma 14.4.1

Thanks,

Mike

Re: iMessage Indigo Plugin [New Plugin]

Will relate to file permissions not being correctly set.

Or being unset somehow with some system update.

There is another post about it - but check the setup permissions aspects in initial setup posts - which is still needed as we read access the iMessage database directly (which obviously needs file permissions for some of the system folders)

thanks

Re: iMessage Indigo Plugin [New Plugin]

Hi Glen,

I have given full disk access to IndigoPluginHost3 and IndigoServer but still get this message when sending an iMessage with the plugin.

iMessage Plugin Error An Error occurred sending this message: Error: Not authorized to send Apple events to Messages. (-1743) app='Messages' range=154-156

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

iMessage Indigo Plugin [New Plugin]

There is a potential new requirement in Security/Privacy tab Automation.

Should have IndigoServer there
With Messages below with a toggle switch (which should be on)

Issue is - how to trigger it if not there. Usually asks on first run and that is updated…

Also double check the Full Disk access applies to the correct version of Indigo - remembering the folders and names have changed with the newer versions…

"With Messages below with a toggle switch (which should be on)"

This is not showing. How do a create a "first run" to cause the messages toggle switch to show"

Re: iMessage Indigo Plugin [New Plugin]

I added the messages app to the full disk access panel and enabled it. No change

Problem solved!

I went to system settings>>privacy and Security>>accessibility and added the Indigo 2023.2 and messages apps. Then the iMessage plug-in began working again with no errors.

Thanks again Glenn for a terrific and important plug-in
