Problem adding camera

I just installed SecuritySpy and your plugin for Indigo. I've added the server into Indigo successfully, but i can't seem to add the camera. I have one camera that does work through securityspy software. This is the error i get when adding the camera device:

Code: Select all
Sep 26, 2012 10:59:12 AM
  Cynical SecuritySpy Error       in getIOMConfigUiXml:
  File ".../Server Plugin/cyin/plug.py", line 269, in getIOMConfigUiXml
    self._ui = cls.UI(cls)
  File ".../Server Plugin/cyin/configui.py", line 59, in __init__
    self.type = cls
  File ".../Server Plugin/cyin/configui.py", line 171, in __setattr__
    self._ui_values[desc.name] = value
TypeError: 'NoneType' object does not support item assignment

  SQL Logger                      creating table device_history_1216692293 for "Driveway Camera"
  Cynical SecuritySpy Error       error:
  File ".../Server Plugin/cyin/plug.py", line 199, in deviceCreated
    iom.start_object(io, io.deviceTypeId, created=True)
  File ".../Server Plugin/cyin/iom.py", line 114, in start_object
    iom.start()
  File "plugin.py", line 134, in start
    devid, number = self.address.split('@')
ValueError: need more than 1 value to unpack

I know another user had reported this same error and possibly deleting the device and the plugin fixed it. I have tried that. I've tried deleting the camera and server devices. I've tried restarting the computer.

I am running the demo of securityspy 2.2 to see if i can get it to work. I'm running indigo 5.1.6, SecuritySpy plugin 1.1.0b1, OSX 10.6.8 PPC

Any advice?

Re: Problem adding camera

I've been waiting to see a reply for this as I'm having the same problem.
Running Indigo 5.1.6, SecuritySpy 2.2, Cynical SecuritySpy v1.1.0b1/

I've been using both Indigo and SecuritySpy for several years now but finally decided to link them.
I have 4 cameras running with SecuritySpy and over 50 devices being controlled via Indigo.
I can create the SecuritySpy server device and it's state is "ready".
When I try and add a camera device, I get the error message below:

Cynical SecuritySpy Error in getIOMConfigUiXml:
File ".../Server Plugin/cyin/plug.py", line 269, in getIOMConfigUiXml
self._ui = cls.UI(cls)
File ".../Server Plugin/cyin/configui.py", line 59, in __init__
self.type = cls
File ".../Server Plugin/cyin/configui.py", line 171, in __setattr__
self._ui_values[desc.name] = value
TypeError: 'NoneType' object does not support item assignment

Error (client) getXmlFromPlugin() caught exception: empty XML string returned

Re: Problem adding camera

Exactly the same error, except that in my case occurs when using the demo version of Indigo. I also have SecuritySpy (4 cameras) 2.2. It is for me an important add-on to definitively buy Indigo Pro. Could someone help us out there?

Re: Problem adding camera

Note that you can add refreshing images into Indigo control pages without the need for any 3rd party software. This, of course, doesn't allow for device control or image/video capture, but it would allow for one to quickly view the current video image coming from a camera directly from an Indigo control/web/Indigo Touch page.

Re: Problem adding camera

Hi,

Perry solved my problem. I was using an older version of the plugin (1.01b1 instead of 1.01b2). The link in the user contribution library is fine. I probably downloaded the old version from the cynical page, but I can't say for sure. So, I re-downloaded the plugin, disabled the old one from Indigo, and double-clik and enable the new. Is is seeing my cameras now so far

I hope this could serve others.

Re: Problem adding camera

I just downloaded the version from Perry's site which is now at 1.1.0b2. It works! Thanks so much.
