Move Camera Problem

Hey,

Just installed an Apexis Outdoor J901 camera and setup some move buttons on a CP.
What I'm finding is the move command sets it in constant motion, in whatever direction you send it, as opposed to
each tap moving the camera incrementally.
I also setup a button for stop motion but that has no effect, it just keeps moving til it reaches
the travel limit for that direction.

When operated in SS a tap on the PTZ controls moves it, like all my other cams, a slight increment.
I'm using the latest version of the plugin and SS.

Any idea why that may be happening?

Thanks,

Carl

Re: Move Camera Problem

I've seen similar behavior with my cameras... although they are foscam. I only move them to presets via indigo now. I don't believe this has anything to do with indigo or security spy as even IP camera apps have the same control behavior.

Re: Move Camera Problem

Thanks. I have a couple Foscams that do move incrementally. Go figure.

Re: Move Camera Problem

Been trying to find a Python example of sending a http://username:password@192.168.1.1/de ... ontrol.cgi ?command=4&onestep=1
request to a webcam.

Any help appreciated!

Thanks,

Carl

urllib.urlopen is the easiest way to hit an arbitrary URL.

Re: Move Camera Problem

Cynical SecuritySpy tells SecuritySpy to do the deed, and relies on its knowledge of the camera to Do The Right Thing. This makes it very important to get the exactly right camera type configured in SecuritySpy. It's perfectly possible to get a good video feed with a close enough camera description and still not get good camera motion control.

If you have this kind of trouble, talk to SecuritySpy technical support. Ask on their forum. Make sure you got the right camera type and configuration. Cynical SecuritySpy can't help you; it just sends a number over. :-)

Cheers
