Denon AVR-X4000 using Global Cache IP2SL not working

Hello,
I have been trying to get control over my Denon AVR using the Cynic plugin.
The docs says that if I want to use the IP2SL, then I should use the IP address of the IP2SL with port 9600.
I did this and no luck. It says connecting, and then it never connects, and then shows unavailable.
I have 3 IP2SL's connected to 3 separate Denon AVR's, and the same story with all 3.

On a side note, I tried using direct IP control, and it only works for 1 command, and then stops working every time. I had similar issues like this using Roomie Remote, which is why I got the IP2SL's which are much more reliable.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Are you able to connect to the configuration page of the device using your browser?

Re: Denon AVR-X4000 using Global Cache IP2SL not working

Hi,

I had similar troubles when trying to connect my AVRX 4100 and earlier on in my Indigo days with an AVR4308. It seemed that once I gave the AVR's a Static IP all my troubles were cured

Hope this helps a bit,

Dave

Joe - Yes I can.

Dave, they are using static IPs. The AVRs and the IP2SLs.

Re: Denon AVR-X4000 using Global Cache IP2SL not working

Ok, I cleared 1 major hurdle.
The port is supposed to be 4999, not 9600 like the docs say.
So now I am connected to the IP2SL.
But I still have the same problem that I had with direct IP control. I run a command (let's say volume up), it works, but then nothing else works unless I reload the cynical denon.

Any ideas?

Re: Denon AVR-X4000 using Global Cache IP2SL not working

I tried using direct IP control again without the IP2SLs, and it lasts a minute longer than the IP2SLs before it stops working too.

Anybody, somebody???? Please help.

BTW, looking at the logs, I see the commands when it works. As soon as it disconnects, there is absolutely nothing in the log, as though I even attempt a command.
