Radio ra3

Is there any hope of controlling Radio ra3 devices with a plugin? I just set up a small ra3 system in my house and want to be able to have a Lutron motion sensor control a non Lutron device.
Thanks

We've reached out to Lutron to get access to the new API used by RRa3, but have not gotten the info we need yet. So nothing's available at this time.

How much did the RRa3 hub cost you? There's some code floating around GitHub that might be usable in a plugin, but without hardware to test against, I can't do anything with it.

$299.40 for the processor and PoE injector. From Hanks

OK, thanks. I'll keep that in mind for testing purposes. Just using volunteer testers will be a lot slower.

Not really. No technical details there. I'm waiting on the actual API docs from Lutron.

If you're on the line regarding whether or not to purchase the new ra3 processor, I'll chip in $50.

Thanks, but not necessary. Gotta get the technical info first. Then, I might be able to test using my current RRa2 connect bridge, since I think it uses the same protocol. As does the Caseta Smart Bridge.

This is a strange question.
If you were building a new, large home, and had your choice of any home control system (or combination), what would your choice be?
I am building one as we speak. I don't think I want Homeworks with the massive amount of unusual wiring.
Thanks

Homeworks is not primarily a home control system, though it has some features of one. I'm assuming you're referring to the home-run style wiring, with the dimmers located away from the loads. That's really not that unusual for large buildings, but it is uncommon for residential uses. My house is a hybrid, with 25-30 circuits using panel-type dimmers installed in a couple closets, and everything else using local dimmers at the usual switch locations.

What it came down to for me is wall plate bloat. There are NO locations in my house with more than a three-gang wallplate, even if that space has more than 3 loads. I just cannot stand how those large plates look. So the most I have in any one location is two dimmers and a fan controller. Even for the kitchen which is wired for six distinct light circuits, or the master bath which has seven. Those locations have a two gang with a keypad and a fan switch.

If you're building a high end custom home with a lot of light circuits in close proximity, you really do want keypads and remote dimmers.

Lutron RadioRa2. They're called "WPM" and it's 6 dimmers in a 4 gang box with a mostly blank faceplate. Meant for installing in closets or utility rooms.

I don't think they're available for RRa3, as the RRa3 controller can't control them (yet, anyway).

I don't know if RRa3 has anything equivalent. Homeworks has something similar, I think.

Are the dimmers controlled wirelessly from the WPM? And the loads all go to the closet with the WPM?
Thanks

The WPMs are the dimmers. They're controlled wirelessly from the RRa2 repeater. The wiring is breaker -> WPM -> load (mostly recessed light fixtures).
