Indigo 2.0 Beta 11 Posted

Beta 11 is now available for download. Updates include:
  • Native support for EZRain, IrrMaster, IrrMaster Pro, Rain8, and Rain8II.
  • Improved interface communication failure detection.
  • Fixed potential server hang when reset interface connections action executes.
  • Fixed problem rendering Control Page 1-bit grayscale PNG images.
  • Fixed problem with device states not updating in an optimal order.
  • Fixed bug that caused stateless Devices (like motion detectors) to display in remote UI.
  • Added all relay device types to the devices popup control inside the Trigger Action _Different Brightness Level_ type.
  • Renamed action type "Send Device Action" to "Control Light / Appliance."
  • Change AppleScript modifyDevice type to controlLightOrAppliance.
  • Added Control Page icons: ceiling fan light, christmas tree, desk fan.
  • Improved appearance of sample database's floor plan Control Page.

Important Notes

EZRain users that have previously created an Indigo device for their EZRain should use the "Define and Sync..." button in the device dialog to let Indigo redefine the device because just re-syncing the links won't properly initialize the device (some internal structures have to be updated).

EZRain users can specify unused zones by setting a "0" for that zone inside the maximum zone durations field. Note the EZRain defaults to a maximum zone duration of 30 minutes. If this is not enough for your zones then change them and press the Set button.

Indigo provides buttons in the main window, as well as action types that can be executed, for: advancing zones, running a schedule of zone durations, stopping the schedule, and pausing/resuming the schedule. Indigo irrigation devices have a current schedule property that, if active (look in the main window UI), contains the zone durations currently being executed. If there is a current schedule, any zone changes will use those durations. If there is no active schedule because the stop sprinkler command was used or because the active schedule completed, then zone changes will remain on until the controller itself (EZRain, Rain8, IrrMaster) times out with its maximum zone duration.

You can easily pause your currently schedule zone durations and resume them later. I use this when leaving the house if the sprinkler is on to avoid getting wet. :-)

The Control Pages work pretty well with the sprinkler devices. The HTML list view pages (basic and mini pages) do NOT yet with with sprinkler devices.

There is one sprinkler feature that is not enabled/visible yet. Inside the action panel for the Run Schedule sprinkler action, there will be a checkbox option to modify all of the zone durations by multiplying them by a user-specified Indigo variable. You'll be able to use this to easily increase or decrease all of the zone durations before the action executes just by changing an Indigo variable multiplier. For example, if it is particularly hot and dry, you could set the variable multiplier (probably from an AppleScript) to 1.35 to increase the watering times by 35%. This functionality will be in the next beta or two.
