Re: When is a plugin no longer "in development"?
See the "Tweets and Newsletter Mentions" of the
3rd Party Developer Relations Statement for what we consider "released" plugins. I've also edited the "3rd Party Plugin Distribution, Support & Sales" section to reflect how developers can get their own sub-forum in the new "3rd Party Developers" forum.
And, no - the purpose of the old
Plugins in Development forum was to provide a place for developers to discuss development/alpha/beta issues with testers. For "released" plugins, we expect the developer to add their plugin to the File Library (until the store is done). As things have evolved, we don't believe this particular forum has a use as a separate forum, so I'm going to move all the posts in this forum up one level to "Extending Indigo with Plugins and Python" and any developer who gets their own sub-forum can request that we move topics specific to their plugins to the appropriate developer forum.
So, I think this is a better/more clear process:
- Anyone developing a plugin that doesn't have their own forum under 3rd Party Developers can post questions/comments/discussion of things they're developing in the Extending Indigo with Plugins and Python forum
- After a developer gets a sub-forum, all discussions of any plugins for that developer can take place there.
