TED is an in-home electricity monitor that provides real-time data in an easy-to-understand manner. TED permanently installs in your breaker panel and gives you instant feedback on your electricity usage.
Plugin configuration is as simple as selecting a polling interval. The default is 30 seconds. I have mine set at 5 seconds and it works well. Configuration for each TED device requires an IP address and the number of active MTUs. The following states are captured (total and for each MTU):
- PowerNow - Power consumption in kw at last poll
- PowerHour - Power consumption in kw over the last hour
- PowerTDY - Power consumption in kw for the day
- PowerMTD - Power consumption in kw for the month
- PowerProj - Power consumption in kw projected for current billing period
- PeakTDY - Peak consumption in kw for current day
- PeakMTD - Peak consumption in kw for current month
- CostNow - Cost per hour based on current power consumption
- CostHour - Cost for the past hour of power consumption
- CostTDY - Cost for the current day
- CostMTD - Cost for the current month
- CostProj - Cost projection for current billing period
- CostAvg - Average daily spending
- VoltageNow - Current utility voltage reading
- VoltageLow - Low voltage reading for current day
- VoltageHigh - High voltage reading for current day
- VoltageLowMTD - Low voltage reading for current month
- VoltageHighMTD - High voltage reading for current month
