Is it possible for you to try it and see if it did?

It would help to understand if it is a Python 2 > Python 3 conversion issue or something new. :)


Seems to be roughly the same with the P2 version - certainly the Group Coordinator field is left empty where a player is not the Group Coordinator, and the ZoneGroupID field also seems to be populated a bit at random.

Hi - was wondering if there was any update on the player states not updating. As I say, I think it was probably a legacy plugin issue so appreciate it may be hard to fix.

I am afraid not at the moment but I will try and look at it in due course (no estimate of when yet). I don't use Sonos myself (other than to test the plugin), which also puts the priority slightly lower.

I am having to focus on converting some of my plugins to Python 3; which I need to do for the next Indigo release.

Jon - really no problem at all. Great if you manage to look at it at some stage, but also understand if you never get round to it. Life...

I used the Sonos plugin with five Sonos controllers and the plugin is very useful in managing these controllers. It is very disappointing that with the new version of Indigo all is lost, will there at some point have a plugin that wirks

The beta version referred to here works with the latest Indigo release. It’s been upgraded to Python 3.

Yes, this is a known problem that is outstanding at the moment; see announcement: Sonos (Python 3) Version 2023.0.27 in Indigo Plugin Store

I will be attempting to fix it but the issue I have is that being UK based, I am unable to get access to SiriusXM for testing purposes, so it is taking a bit longer to resolve than I would like. :(

I followed the instruction for installing beta version and received the following message in the terminal after installing the info state in the update process

WARNING: Target directory /Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 2022.2/Preferences/Plugins/com.ssi.indigoplugin.Sonos.python_packages/lxml already exists. Specify --upgrade to force replacement.
WARNING: You are using pip version 21.2.4; however, version 23.2.1 is available.
You should consider upgrading via the '/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/3.10/bin/python3.10 -m pip install --upgrade pip' command.

I am not familiar in doing any programming. The Beta Sonos still not work,

Appreciate any help in resolving this

After running the updated plugin I get the following message in the indigo log

Upgrading plugin Sonos to newer version 2023.0.27 (previous version moved to trash)
Error ReloadPlugin() caught exception: FileIOError -- rename/move of file or folder failed -- check file/folder permissions


Not sure what to do next, any help is appreciated

What version of Indigo are you running?

When you started the plugin, did it ask you to update lxml?

In terminal, you can run the command to update pip i.e.
Code: Select all
/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/3.10/bin/python3.10 -m pip install --upgrade pip

It will avoid the error message coming out next time.

When you say The Beta Sonos still not work, what do you mean by that.

What messages appeared in the log. I need more information to help you. :)

I got the new version mostly working. One thing to point out that may trip up others is that I seemed to need to install Xcode command line tools - I didn't see that in the documentation (maybe I missed it in a post).

Also, I can't seem to get the pandora authentication to work (even after installing the pandora python libraries)... is that still a known issue?

No that isn't documented. What was the prompt to ask you to install Xcode command line tools?

I already have them installed which is probably why I have missed it being a requirement.

Are you on an Intel or Apple Silicon Mac?

I think Pandora should work. I users have reported it working OK.
What message are you getting from the plugin?
