Turn on Mr Steam steam shower?

Hi,

I have a Mr. Steam steam shower, I bought a device called iGenie which is a fob with a button that I can remotely turn on the unit. I'd like to be able to set up schedules to turn on the unit from Indigo, and only have the unit turn on when the door is closed, for obvious reasons! (I'm using a window/door sensor for that).

Here is a link to the iGenie remote. Is there a device I can use to learn the signal? Or is there a device I can use at the base unit itself?

They also make a device called HomeWizard (I'd rather not buy it unless I must). From that it says:

2 wire pairs (not supplied) must be provided to connect the Home
Automation system and the Home Wizard.
• Using the supplied connector, connect the signal wires and feedback
wires from the Home Automation system to the Home Wizard.
The signal from the Home Automation system must be a
momentary contact closure to turn the Steam Generator ON or OFF.
A sustained contact closure or voltage will damage the Home Wizard.
• The feedback from the Home Wizard is a sustained contact closure
when the steam generator is ON and an open circuit when the steam
generator is OFF.
The maximum voltage for the
feedback circuit is 2A at 12 VDC

Thanks!

Darren

Use a Fibaro (or other brand) relay on zwave. If you are just closing a contact then you need nothing else except maybe a 12v power supply.
I'll look tomorrow at the link and let you know.

If using Insteon, I'd say get the home wizard and an INSTEON 2450 I/O Linc this will give you control over they system and feedback to indigo to tell when it's on.
