On the browser side, the control pages are HTML and JavaScript -- it is basically an AJAX Web 2.0 client.

On the server side, the HTML is created via HTML template files and Python using the Cheetah template engine. These HTML templates can be edited inside the Indigo 2/IndigoWebServer/ folder.

Matt

I'm still working on this one....

I did it in Google Sketchup as a very rough, not to scale, kind of artistic representation of our house (which is split level). I plan on haveing arrows on each side to "rotate" the house to see different rooms as I build out the automation stuff.

This is running on a MacMini w/ a touch screen (which is the Indigo server as well).

Wow - very cool ethan.

Do the shadows move as the day gets later - and stars come out at night? :)

Actually, that would be possible. I haven't used SketchUp much, but can you move the lighting source? Could then modify the control pages to call the background depending on the current state of the day (bg_morning, bg_noon, bg_afternoon, bg_evening, bg_night)

What are you using for the touchscreen?

I have a Planar 15" LCD touch screen I got from a surplus shop. Geeks.com I believe. It seems as if it used to be a ticketing machine screen or something. The drivers I had to get separately. Took a bit to get it working, but a 15" touch screen for 150 bucks was a steal!

And to get the driver...

Its an Elo touch screen, but their Intel Mac driver ONLY works with 10.4.7, so I had to dig around to get the OSX 10.4.7 combo update for the MacMini (which had 10.4.6 when it arrived).

Used a Serial->USB adapter (there are two on the system now) and it works great. One thing that would be good is the ability to increase the "hit area" for buttons in the Web Control Panel maker.

You can make a larger image with white border around it.

IRTRans Question

I got a question about the IRTrans. How do you connect it all together ?

I mean IRTrans Ethernet is connected to any point you might have or it has to be connected to a mac? After that do you need only one External IR LED 1-way with 3,5mm Phone plug to controll as many devices as you'd like ? Can you have one IR Trans and control 2 or more device locations (I mean TV+DVD+REceiver on the main room as well as TV+DVD on the bedroom ?

I know this are a lot of questions, if anyone can answer i'd be glad...!!!

Here is mine.

This is the main floorplan for my new house. I don't have any of the lights/devices listed on this page yet. I have a couple test devices, but they are not show on this page.

When it is done, it will be at least 4 pages - an overview, the house (shown), the computer lab, and a details page that will include the heating/cooling and the sprinklers.

I edited your message to get it working. To post a pic, you surround the URL with the [img]URL_here[/url] tags. In your case, you had left out the file extension (.jpg) so the forum software didn't allow your URL. I added the file extensions and the [img] tags to get it working.

Matt

How about this one?

[edit] Changed the file from a GIF to a PNG so Indigo can use it in a control page [/edit]
