New stuff added ... I got the IRTrans up and working and now can control my Home Theater system by clicking on the pictures of individual components on my Control Page ... ie - clicking on the TV toggles my TV on and off, clicking on the HD Tuner turns on my TV, sets the input to TV, turns on my HD Tuner, turns on my receiver, and sets the receiver input to TV. System volume is controlled by the volume icons. In addition, clicking on the network icons automatically changes the tv channel to that network. My wife absolutely loves it ... HUGE WAF!

What ar efolks using to make the images?

Folks,

I can't seem to find any good Home Design software on the Mac, so what are you folks using to make your layouts?

I started in Omnigraffle, but don't like the way it's turning out...

A low-tech solution

In case anyone is intimidated by the wonderful graphics and layouts folks have been posting, Indigo 2 makes it is possible to put together something useable with no effort at all.

Protean,

I love it! I think it's the best one yet. Reminds me of Shel Silverstein.

Yes! I was getting intimidated, but I love your low-tech solution, protean. I just scanned a blueprint of my first floor, but I haven't figured out how to post it yet.

Lol ... an oldie, but goodie :) BTW dtich ... stellar control page!

I am programming my IRTrans right now to run my Home Theater from my control page. I am entering the remote codes in to iRed and will post an updated pic when I am finished.

Indigo 2.0 is like crack ... I just can't stop!!!

thx pw. looking good everybody. i, too, love the shel silverstein look, pro -- wouldn't change a thing!

btw, bs, i used illustrator to make the bg image and then my layout does inlcude some custom tweaked icons, colors and whatnot, on/off states, but i haven't gotten around to actual icon-making... very much like crack indeed, pw. i would tell my wife i was ten minutes from coming to bed, and then routinely spend another two hours programming! maybe a little more productive than crack, but....

Pretty run-of-the-mill (and I figured out how to post it):

I've made a control page for my SLIMP3, based upon the iTunes layout.
A big thanks to my wife for making the buttons.

And here are the buttons:

Do you have details on the sliMP3 setup that you can share. I wanted to integrate mine, but I can't figure out how to do it.

Can not take credit for it ..It was my wifes idea but it gets very high wife approval when you show them how to use it on a web browser as opposed to floor plans..

Is the time of loading the page is fast or slow ? This is a nice alternative !!!

I've made a "small" tutorial on integrating the SLIMP3 with Indigo.
Have fun!

These are great!

What are people using to create floorplans? The inexpensive home design software is PC only and I don't want to shell out for AutoCAD or something like that.

I think it protean's case, it was a pen and paper :-)

In my case, I spent thousands of dollars on an architect and took a digital photo of the floorplan. I then erased all but the walls using The Gimp.

I like seeing how others are automating their house with Indigo. I just have x10 and Insteon lamp modules, appliance module and switches. I also have one motion sensor and a few x10 remotes.
