Indigo Touch iPhone App and Lion 10.7.2 Compataibility

Is there an upgrade or new version of the iPhone App that is compatible with Lion 10.7?

That's a non sequitur. Indigo Touch runs on iOS 3.1 and above and has nothing to do with Mac OS X. The Indigo server runs on Mac OS X 10.5 and above and is what Indigo Touch communicates with.

Re: Indigo Touch iPhone App

I was able to control the house X10 modules from my iPhone 4 before I installed Lion and upgraded to Indigo 5.0.2. I am now unable to access my database from the iPhone.

I thought I read in an article that Apple had rejected or did not except an update to the Indigo Touch App.

Would you refer me to the reference information on installing the Indigo Touch App and syncing it with the database on my iMac.

Indigo Touch 1.5, which is what you get in the app store, works.

When you try to connect to your server, what errors do you see in Indigo Touch? What errors do you see in the Event Log window?

Make sure your iOS device is on the same local network that the Indigo server is on (connected via WiFi, not Edge/3G). In Indigo Touch, tap on the gear in the upper left corner, tap the "Edit" button, tap the red minus sign, tap the "Delete" button. Tap "Done" and then "Done" again. Now, click the gear icon again and you should see your local Indigo server - tap on that.

Code: Select all

Several years ago we had an update that was denied but that issue was resolved. There are no reported problems with Indigo Touch 1.5 and Indigo 5.

Re: Indigo Touch iPhone App

I originally had “Run client/server as single application” selected…
I selected “Start and connect to Indigo Server”…
I have the first 5 boxes checked …
The fifth box… Override Web server port 8176

The Server showed up on my iPhone.

The name of the database on the computer is “LaBrea11•6•11”…
The name on the iPhone is “LaBrea11 å€ 16 å€ 11”
Could the “•” be causing a problem?

I selected the database on the iPhone… I get the little spinning wheel
The message is “Unable to connect to local Indigo Server”

This is part of the event log:

You definitely can't have "Run client/server as single application" selected.

I think you're having a firewall issue. Temporarily disable the firewall on your Mac and see if it starts working.

Try renaming your database file to remove the bullets then to see if that gets it working.

Also try restarting your Mac and rebooting your phone.

Stop the Indigo Server (via the Indigo 5->Stop Server menu item), then rename the database file which is likely in this folder:

/Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 5/Databases/

It works...
Thank you for the help.
My problem was using the "•" in the database name.

I'm in a wheelchair and hospital bed in the evening and I've been using the Indigo Software to control Security Monitors, Lights and signal my nurse if I need her assistance.

Great -- I'm glad that got it working, and I'm happy Indigo is able to assist you with controlling your environment.
