[SOLVED]Connection failure

Hey all,

I quickly tried Indigo touch yesterday and it worked fine.
Today though I keep getting connection failure.

IP address is the same; tried restarting the indigo server. Can ping the mac host all fine.
So not sure what has changed today!

What else can I check?

thanks in advance

Re: Connection failure

When you say it "fails to connect", what error message / symptoms are you getting from Indigo Touch.
What model iPhone and iOS version are you using?

Re: Connection failure

The Mac OS firewall may be blocking Indigo's servers. Choose the Indigo 6->Stop Server menu item, then Indigo 6->Quit. Relaunch Indigo and make sure you accept any Mac OS firewall confirmations.

Hey!

Yeah I tried that. The firewall is currently off.

Re: Connection failure

Are you on your local WiFi network or connecting via cellular data?

Re: Connection failure

Hey!

Local Wifi.
ipad fine. iPhone worked fine yesterday. Is there any debug I can enable on the indigo server to provide any help?. Though my assumption is it's not getting that far.

Re: Connection failure

Ok, let's just reset the connection settings:

  1. Open Indigo Touch and tap the settings icon in the upper right corner
  2. Tap Edit
  3. Delete your connection entry
  4. Tap Done
  5. Tap Done
  6. Tap the Settings icon again
  7. Your server should show in the list - select it and enter your authentication information

Hopefully everything will be working again.

Re: Connection failure

Hey!

Nope. My indigo server never showed up. I always had to enter it manually (even when it did work).
So deleting the old entry and adding again made no difference :-(((

Re: Connection failure

Can you access it from Safari on your iOS device?

Using the same address, can you access it from Safari on the Mac running Indigo itself?

Lastly, stop/restart the Indigo Server, wait 20 seconds, then copy/paste the contents of the Event Log window into a forum reply.

Re: Connection failure

Right !
I noticed something strange on my hub
My phone showed up as wired and wireless with the same IP address
Rebooted the router and all working
Apologies ; don't understand how this can happen
