Video at the door: Doorbird LAN API, etc.

Every now and then I check with sky bell, august lock, and others if they have posted APIs to integrate their video doorbells into Indigo.

DoorBird https://www.doorbird.com/buystarted posting their API (and of course they also have the more expensive product of the bunch) http://www.doorbird.com/downloads/api_lan.pdf?6

From looking at it, I think it could be tied into Indigo.... put an image on a control page, access images directly, trigger the door and light relays from an action or control page button?

The front door is always a weird angle to get a good video / image capture from. Mounted on the door facing out is going to give you the best image.... but I haven't found anything on the market that can tie into my existing system.... other than an analogue peephole camera attached to a IP converter or something like the hikvision ds-2cd6412fwd-30.

I thought I'd post this and get some general discussion going on the topic of doorbell cameras / cameras at the door / leveraging current tech / etc.

Currently I have the Elk doorbell detector thing, a outdoor motion detector and beam sensor to trigger stuff at the front of my home / front porch / etc. -> the capture of a foscam image, pushover notification, text message with image. Downside... I'm getting the side of the head or the back of the head if they are facing the doorbell. Just above the door would be a good spot for a camera, but I don't want to look the the security obsessed guy on the block. A discrete camera at the door facing the walkway up to the door would be perfect.
