Prism Reflector down 24 hours after computer restart

Hi. I had been using the goprism reflector effectively for a year or more. For about the last month or so I've noticed that as soon as I restart my Mac, Indigo app starts up and the reflector is up and running for about a day or two. Repeatedly after about a day, I notice I can't log in via Indigo Touch on my phone via 3G, and when I go to the website https://myusername.goprism.com/ there are the words "Reflector connection is currently down." If I quit Indigo and restart the app, that doesn't help, but if I restart the whole computer, upon the next startup the reflector will be up for about a day and I can log in via iPhone 3G & Indigo Touch. By day two it's off again.

Sorry; I'm totally ignorant of how this works, I'm a casual user, not a power user-- reflector had been working, now it isn't. Can someone point me where I should start to debug this? Thank you.
Quad-Core Intel Xeon Mac Pro, OS 10.5.8, Indigo Client/Server 4.0.2.

Re: Prism Reflector down 24 hours after computer restart

What does Indigo's Event Log show when it isn't working?

Stop the Indigo Server, then start it back up and let it run for about 40 minutes. Copy/paste the results you see. Don't control many Devices during this time to keep the Event Log small.

Hi.

You asked me to "Stop the Indigo Server, then start it back up and let it run for about 40 minutes. Copy/paste the results you see." Do you mean I should restart the computer so that the reflector starts working, or just stop/start server without restarting computer?

Meanwhile, here is a typical section of the event log at my last reboot. (I have substituted "user" for my actual goprism name.) Thanks.

What you provided (the failure case) is good. Try these steps next:
Code: Select all
1) Launch the Terminal application (inside /Applications/Utilities/)

2) Copy/paste each line below *individually* and hit the return key after each one:

cd /Library/Application\ Support/Perceptive\ Automation/
cd Indigo\ 4/Preferences/PrismReflector
ls -al
chmod ugo-x *
chmod o-rwx *
chmod g-rw id_rsa
ls -al
id

3) Select all and Copy/Paste the entire contents of the Terminal window into an email for me.

4) Open a new Terminal Window for the next 2 steps.

5) Copy/paste each line below *individually* and hit the return key after each one:

cd /Library/Application\ Support/Perceptive\ Automation
cd Indigo\ 4/IndigoServer.app/Contents/PlugIns
ps -axww | grep "Indigo"
./prism_reflect.py -m geturl -d
./prism_reflect.py -m tunnel -d

6) Wait 3 minutes. It can take a while for the network errors we are trying to catch to be reported.

7) Copy/paste each line below *individually* and hit the return key after each one:

ps -axww | grep "Indigo"
./prism_reflect.py -m checktunnel -d

8) Select all and Copy/Paste the entire contents of the Terminal window into an email for me (send it to indigo-support AT perceptiveautomation.com).

If the problem is the a file permissions issue (which happens sometimes), then steps #1 and 2 will fix the problem.
