Post Prism Server down (again)
I have not used the Prism server since v. 2 I upgraded to v.4 and now it does not work. I have searched the threads, applied new permissions and still nothing. Any ideas???

Post Re: Prism Server down (again)
Have you changed any of your router or firewall settings? The default settings normally are fine, but if you set it to not allow outgoing connection requests, then Indigo Server isn't able to create the secure tunnel to our hosted server.

Try these steps to troubleshoot:

1) Launch the Terminal application (inside /Applications/Utilities/)

2) Copy/paste each line below *individually* and hit the return key after each one:
Code: Select all
cd /Library/Application\ Support/Perceptive\ Automation/
cd Indigo\ 4/Preferences/PrismReflector
ls -al
chmod ugo-x *
chmod o-rwx *
chmod g-rw id_rsa
ls -al

3) Select all and Copy/Paste the entire contents of the Terminal window into an email (indigo-support at perceptiveautomation.com) for me.

4) Open a new Terminal Window for the next 2 steps.

5) Copy/paste each line below *individually* and hit the return key after each one:
Code: Select all
cd /Library/Application\ Support/Perceptive\ Automation
cd Indigo\ 4/IndigoServer.app/Contents/PlugIns
ps -axww | grep "Indigo"
./prism_reflect.py -m geturl -d
./prism_reflect.py -m tunnel -d

6) Wait 3 minutes. It can take a while for the network errors we are trying to catch to be reported.

7) Copy/paste each line below *individually* and hit the return key after each one:
Code: Select all
ps -axww | grep "Indigo"
./prism_reflect.py -m checktunnel -d

8) Select all and Copy/Paste the entire contents of the Terminal window into an email (indigo-support at perceptiveautomation.com) for me.

Yes, it is up and running. I think I had to block your IP address on the server. :-( A couple of IndigoServers where causing lots of connection attempts to GoPrism.com. Apparently the secure connection is failing for some reason on those Macs, so I blocked those IPs temporarily. The next version of IndigoServer will throttle back how often a connection is attempted if it fails, which will prevent the GoPrism.com server load problem.

Anyhow, I just unblocked your IP, so you should be able to access it now. If it fails after an IndigoServer restart, then copy/paste what you see in the Event Log for me.

So when are the rest of the blocked IP addresses for the macs going to unlocked? I was only using mine twice a day from my iPhone. I was able to get on remotely from the desk top here at work, now I can't do that.

Thank you.

I don't know if your IP addr is blocked or not. What happens when you try to get on via your work desktop Mac? Do you see an error or does it just time out?

And can you get me the IP address of your home Mac (rather, your home router)?

When I opened Indigo on my computer the first time it worked, but then when I tried the iPhone and it wasn't working, I went back to indigo it no longer worked. My phone kept getting errors but I'm not sure what the computer said. When I went to the GoPrism site it would say "Reflector connection is currently down." If I would reset the server then the indigo program works fine, but still no iphone control. As far as my IP address I'm at work and won't be home for another 5 hours and then I can PM you with it.
