Indigo Pro crash?

Hi all,

I see that there were some problems with the Prism reflectors over the weekend, but I am still unable to use mine (as of several days ago,) and I no longer can even open the Indigo application. I have tried restarting the mac. When I try and relaunch Indigo, I eventually get a small server connection status window that says, "Failed to connect to Indigo Server. The Indigo Server is either unreachable over the network or is not running."

How do I fix this? Not only can I not access my devices remotely through the web or my iPhone, but I can't even run the application on my mac at home. Hmmm. Any help on fixing this is appreciated. Thanks everybody. I'm learning here!

Re: Indigo Pro crash?

What happens when you choose the Indigo 4->Start Local Server menu item? Is the Start Server button enabled? What does pressing it do?

What happens if you try to start it with your PowerLinc unplugged from the Mac itself (USB cable unplugged)?

And have you tried a complete reboot of your Mac?

Re: Indigo Pro Crash?

Hi,

I tried to launch Indigo with the PowerLinc unplugged. There was no change. And I have also tried a reboot of the computer.

When I choose the Indigo 4 Indigo 4->Start Local Server menu item I get the "Start Local Server" window with the 2 radio buttons giving me the choice to "Run client/server as single application" or "Start and connect to Indigo on this computer." That one has several more options for remote access. The one that says "Auto Start Indigo server on user login" is not checked, but the "Allow remote access" one is - and all the sub boxes below it are checked EXCEPT for the one that says "Enable anywhere secure access (via Prism Reflector.) The Reflector Status says "Disabled."

When I check that "enable anywhere" box, the Reflector Status changes to "Activated" and it allows me to push the "Restart Server" button. Doing this takes me back to the "Server Connection Status" window telling me that it "Failed to connect to Indigo Server." Caught in a loop. What do you think? Thanks for the help.

Re: Indigo Pro Crash?

Here's the latest. I rebooted the mac AGAIN, and things seem to have fixed themselves. I logged back in goprism and activated my reflector. Indigo seems to be happy again. Not sure what I did or what caused the problems in the first place. Any ideas? Thanks.

Re: Indigo Pro Crash?

I'm pretty puzzled on this one. I don't think the problem is at all related to the GoPrism.com issues we had. The GoPrism.com reflector is internally setup pretty independently of the main Indigo Server process, so any issues shouldn't hang up the main server.

Do the Event Log files around the time the problem started show anything interesting?

Let us know if you see the problem again and we'll dig deeper into it.

Hi Matt,

All I can find in the Event Log files that stands out to me are as follows:

2009-07-16 09:40:39 Reflector starting reflector connection to https://*******.goprism.com
2009-07-16 10:53:00 Error reflector connection test failed: [Errno socket error] (60, 'Operation timed out')
2009-07-16 10:53:00 Application Killing 41719 using SIGTERM
2009-07-16 10:53:11 Reflector restarting reflector connection to https://*******.goprism.com
2009-07-16 12:12:21 Error usb data read: stalled pipe (0xE00002ED)
2009-07-16 12:12:21 Error usb data read: clearing pipes
2009-07-16 12:12:21 Error usb data read: pipe clear failed (0xE00002C0)
2009-07-16 12:12:21 Power Failure possible power failure
2009-07-16 12:12:24 Error lost connection with interface
2009-07-16 12:12:25 Application Connected to SmartHome PowerLinc USB E
2009-07-16 12:12:25 Application PowerLinc address 05.11.89, firmware version 2.13

All seems to be working fine now. Basically all problems were solved with a hard shutdown of the mac. What do you think? Thanks again!

Re: Indigo Pro Crash?

The reflector errors are benign. The PowerLinc error, unless you unplugged the PowerLinc, might be a sign of a PowerLinc problem. Do you have it plugged directly into a USB port on your Mac? Some USB hubs aren't compatible with the PowerLinc. If you see the problem again, then we'll dig deeper into it.
