Post Reflector connection test failed...
I've switched from DSL + Static IP to FiOS w/ DHCP, so I'm trying to get Prism set up.

My router is configured for my server to be in the DMZ and my server has its Mac OS firewall down (basically I haven't changed anything in the router or server configs, other than telling the router it needs to pick up a DHCP address now).

I know what my DHCP address is, and if I connect to it from my iPhone via Safari I get a response from my Apache server as expected.

update:
I was almost done with this message, and I typed the IP directly in to Indigo Touch and it can't even connect directly. I assume that's what Prism can't connect. Not sure what's going on here though...
/update

But, Indigo can't get Prism up and running.
Code: Select all

  Trigger Action     iTunes Sync
  Trigger Action     Weather Now Sync
Connected to SmartHome PowerLinc USB E
PowerLinc address 0E.16.36, firmware version 2.13
Reflector          starting reflector connection to https://xcaiver.goprism.com
  PowerLinc standalone operation disabled
  Indigo directly controlling automation logic

  Error              reflector connection test failed:
  Killing 7541 using SIGTERM
Reflector          restarting reflector connection to https://xcaiver.goprism.com

  Error              reflector connection test failed:
  Killing 7544 using SIGTERM
Reflector          restarting reflector connection to https://xcaiver.goprism.com

And then it loops that failure every 30 seconds 'forever' (it must have been doing it all night, I couldn't scroll back far enough to see anything other than that message in my active log)

I can hit the goprism.com main page just fine, basically no connectivity problems with any other service (pop, imap, smtp, http, https, ftp pasv or non-pasv, vpns, xbox, etc)

Which IP did you enter -- the router's external IP address (assigned by the ISP) or your Mac's IP address? If it was the former, then does the latter work?

Note that from within my LAN I cannot access my Mac using my external router IP address. it works fine when I'm out of the house or on 3G, but my router doesn't allow this type of loopback internally.

Temporarily try changing your Mac's firewall settings to allow all incoming connections to rule out the Mac firewall. Likewise, try turning off the router's firewall temporarily to see if that is the problem. And make sure outgoing requests are alway allowed on both.

I used the external IP on my iPhone, so it went over 3G.
Like your setup, none of my routers have ever supported internal connections using the external IP, that always confused their NATs.

The firewall is totally off on that machine, as is the one on the DLink - at least as much as it can be. The server is on the DMZ, and in case there was a bug and the firewall was still partially affecting that I disabled SPI and lowered endpoint filtering to the lowest 'endpoint independant' setting.

And if I go to http://<myip>:8000/homeauto/ via iPhone's safari I can get to the Indigo webpages. I didn't think until this morning that the config changes from using Apache's proxypass might be affecting it. I was one of the guys who was doing an http://my.domain.com/homeauto/ redirection stuff.
Could Prism not be happy with the changes to, hmm, I forget, whichever .py config file the root override bit was in?

I'll try changing that back for now, since I've moved to DHCP temporarily I'm not using my host name.

Yes, I think this is a conflict between using the proxy setting in the Indigo Web Server and GoPrism.com. GoPrism.com always checks the connection using the non-proxy address I think, which will fail.
