Expand your X10 World
Almost anything can become an X10 device with the X10 Powerflash Interface.
How It Works
The X10 Powerflash Interface allows almost anything to send X10 signals. The plug-in unit sends an X10 signal to the X10 devices set to the same house code set by the dial wheels on the face of the Powerflash or to your home automation software like Indigo for a more sophisticated trigger reaction. The signal is sent when a contact closure is made or low-voltage (6-18V AC, DC or Audio) is applied to the Powerflash terminals located on the bottom of the device. The Powerflash functionality is especially useful if used in concert with your burglar alarm to turn on a series of lights in your house and/or suddenly flash them - - - not a reassuring signal to someone trying to break in.
Three Operational Modes
A small slide switch on the face of the Powerflash sets one of three Modes.
- Mode 1
An ALL LIGHTS ON signal is sent to the same House Code and a regular ON (to operate appliances) signal to the same Unit Code that the interface is set to. When contacts are opened it sends an OFF to the same Unit Code but leaves the rest of the lights on.
- Mode 2
A flashing ALL LIGHTS ON/ALL OFF signal is sent and leaves the lights ON after the contacts are opened.
- Mode 3
This is the mode that will be most used for non-security type applications. The Powerflash sends an ON only to the same House and Unit Code. When the contacts are opened it sends an OFF to the same House and Unit Code.
